Job Summary

The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician performs technical, specialized duties. The Pharmacy Technician does not perform duties that require the professional judgment of a pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician assists the Staff Pharmacist in the technical and mechanical (non-professional) duties of all distribution systems. The Pharmacy Technician must have the ability to distinguish routine functions from those requiring the professional judgment of a pharmacist;

have the ability to initiate tasks/problem solving, organize and complete work without direct supervision.

Work Schedule

Full-time (72 hours biweekly). The schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off with 10-hour shifts from 1:30 pm – midnight.

Department Description

Inpatient Pharmacy – provides 24‑hour clinical and distributive pharmacy services for our inpatient population. Use of a decentralized pharmacy model facilitates close collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals, emphasizing the concept of pharmaceutical care.

Experience Required

• At least 6 months experience as a Pharmacy Technician (or similar job experience preferred)
• Have exhibited a high degree of reliability, dependability, above‑average flexibility in job adaptability and competency in previous work performance
• Must pass a competency test (>75%) within the 6‑month probationary period
