The Computer Technician position maintains the County’s computers and network, provides technical assistance to end users, implements new equipment, and services existing equipment.
Essential Functions- Provides Help Desk operations through ticket operations.
- Assists with training of personnel in the use of computer hardware and software.
- Maintains, edits, and oversees SharePoint webpages.
- Provides vendor quotes for departments.
- Answers phone calls and emails.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all departments’ operations to effect change proactively.
- Assists with imaging, deploying, and backup of computer systems.
- Updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Creates user accounts and coordinates email setup.
- Assists with application setup.
- Assists with password resets for Microsoft Windows and AS400.
- Troubleshoots various department specific software.
- Assists with programming and setup of CISCO phones.
- Keeps track of various Information Technology inventory.
- Provides consultation/advising for IT related equipment.
- Moves computer equipment and furniture.
- Performs all other related duties as required.
- Associate degree in Computer Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A+, or equivalent, certification is preferred.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.

- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, carry, move and lift 40 lb. objects regularly.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must have the ability to travel up to 30%.
