Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney
Job Overview:A Florence, SC-based law firm is seeking a motivated attorney to join its Workers' Compensation practice. Duties:Review and evaluate new case files to formulate case strategies and budget expectations
Determine necessary pleadings and delegate drafting tasks to support staff
Draft and respond to discovery requests; oversee document production
Represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other proceedings
Provide comprehensive reports and case status updates following legal proceedings
Negotiate settlements, obtain necessary approvals, and prepare for litigation
Maintain consistent communication with assigned paralegals and legal assistants
Uphold a high standard of service and client-focused representation
Requirements:Active license to practice law in South Carolina
1 to 5 years of prior experience, preferably in insurance defense or workers' compensation
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Strong case organization and time management capabilities
Willingness to engage in a high-volume caseload with a fast-paced workflow
Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:Must be a member in good standing with the South Carolina Bar
Skills:Excellent written and oral communication skills
Competency in the Microsoft Office Suite
Aptitude for learning and using litigation and case management software
Strong interpersonal skills with a client-centric mindset
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt in a changing legal environment
