Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/PCU RN for a night shift position requiring SC or compact RN license and 2 years of telemetry experience.

• Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown/PCU or ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management preferred
• Experience with neuro stepdown conditions (CVA, craniotomy, TBI) preferred
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator management preferred
• Social Security Number required for consideration

• Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a 12-bed unit
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call requirement
• Floating required within scope to sister units/facilities, with agency staff floating first
• Epic charting system used
• Provide stepdown-level nursing care to cardiac, neuro, and telemetry patients
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility, as locals are not accepted
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• All RTO must be submitted and approved prior to offer, with holiday RTO potentially delaying the process
• Travelers may be required to support emergency response efforts during hurricane season (June-November)
