American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a renal-focused unit requiring an active SC or compact RN license and one year of relevant experience.
Details- Medical Surgical unit with a focus on renal patient care
- 3x12 night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Patient ratios of 1:6-7
- Every other weekend required with holiday rotation
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating to other med/surg units as needed
- Charting completed in Epic
- Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:6-7
- Skills in neurological/psychiatric care, CVA, gastrointestinal, and feeding tube management
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
- Skilled in respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, including starting and maintaining IVs
- Genitourinary/renal care experience, including renal failure management
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including use of rapid response/code teams
- SSN required for consideration
- Provide direct patient care on a medical surgical unit with a focus on renal conditions
- Respond to rapid response and code team activations as needed
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Free parking available on site
- During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be considered, as locals are not accepted
- All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to assignment confirmation
- Block scheduling requests may be submitted but are not guaranteed
