Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring a SC or compact RN license and 2 years of experience.

• Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• 2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with MS/Tele, Telemetry, Insulin administration, and Rapid Response required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• SSN required for consideration

• Medical Surgical unit within a 34-bed hospital
• Night shift schedule of 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7, with potential flex to 1:7 during unplanned absences
• Every other weekend work required
• PRN on-call required for low census situations
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Provide direct patient care including IV therapy, wound care, cardiac monitoring, and medication administration
• Skilled nursing tasks may include PICC line management, chest tube care, tracheostomy care, and colostomy management
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Free parking available on-site
• First-time travelers accepted for this position
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies; local candidates not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application for facility approval
• Block scheduling requests can be made but are not guaranteed
• During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
