About the Clinic

Hewitt Animal Hospital, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, serves dogs and cats in Florence, Darlington, Timmonsville, and surrounding areas. The clinic offers primary and emergency care, backed by a statewide network of 400 clinics that provide extensive resources and support.

Job Overview

Veterinary Technician – Florence semi‑weekly schedule.
Schedule: 4‑day work week with bi‑weekly Saturday (8:00 a.m.‑12:00 p.m.).

Role针对 Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary careετε, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with the Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
  • Assist in maintaining comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques and follow standard protocols to keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs clean, sterile, and organized.
  • Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
  • Perform safe restraint techniques, obtain patient histories, and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform blood draw, IV catheter placement, drug calculations, anesthesia monitoring, dental prophylaxis, radiology, and laboratory duties including fecal exam, urinalysis, and blood‑work preparation.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients; admit and discharge patients.
  • Prepare and administer vaccines and medications.
Experience & Skills Requirements
  • Prefer one year of recent experience in a small animal hospital.
  • Commitment to working within a team environment.

  • Proven ability to multi‑task in a busy work setting.
  • Professional demeanor and outgoing personality.
  • Computer experience is required.

Compensation

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience. Hourly pay rate starting at $ Viewed 15 / hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
