Security Officer/PRN – Florence, Marion, Black River – MUSC Health
Join MUSC Health as a PRN Security Officer. Protect patients, staff, and visitors while monitoring access control systems, cameras, and alarm systems across the Pee Dee Division.
- Patrol facilities and grounds
- Provide emergency assistance and response
- Interact with patients, families, visitors, law enforcement, and correctional officers
- Support staff with security and safety concerns
- Document observations, conduct investigations, and write detailed reports
Locations available: Florence, SC / Marion, SC / Black River Medical Center
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum 1 year relevant experience (preferred healthcare security, corporate security, or law enforcement)
Licenses &
Certifications:
Valid driver’s license in South Carolina; IAHSS Basic Certification within 6 months of hire
- Professionalism and high customer service engagement
- PPE usage (gloves, face shields, goggles, gowns, masks, powered air‑purifying respirator, ballistic vest when necessary)
- Radio communication and rapid response to emergent situations
- Verbal and written communication skills; accurate report typing
- Crime prevention strategies and smoke/odor detection
- Computer literacy (spreadsheets, word processing, email, alarm systems, access control software, surveillance cameras)
- De‑escalation, restraint tactics, and 16 hours verbal/physical Handle with Care Crisis De‑escalation course
- Security practices for safeguarding persons and property
- Completion of MUHA Security training and MUHA Security procedures
Physical Requirements: Occasional (up to 33%);
Frequent (34–66%);
Constant (67–100%) – standing, walking, sitting; bend at waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach all directions; lift 20 lbs unassisted, lift overhead 15 lbs; vision 20/40 corrected; work indoors/outdoors, seasonal weather conditions.
