Job SummaryThe MDT Coordinator will be responsible for organizing, facilitating, and tracking multi‑disciplinary team meetings in Florence, Marion, Dillon, and Clarendon counties to ensure a collaborative and victim‑centered approach to the investigation, treatment, and prosecution of child abuse cases. The MDT Coordinator will convene monthly in‑person MDT meetings for each county, as well as any emergent meetings related to human trafficking, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or other urgent cases.
This position will also coordinate services and outreach for cases referred from outside CARE House’s traditional service area to ensure appropriate professionals are engaged. The MDT Coordinator will work closely with the Child and Family Advocates and the Outreach Team to ensure a cohesive, coordinated community presence. This is a full‑time, grant‑funded position reporting to the Administrative Services Supervisor.
- Ensure that victims and non‑offending caregivers receive timely, coordinated, and comprehensive services through the MDT process.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among MDT members, including law enforcement, DSS, prosecution, medical providers, mental health professionals, and victim advocates.
- Schedule and coordinate all monthly MDT meetings and emergent case staffings.
- Coordinate with local services to staff cases when CARE House receives requests for forensic interviews from outside the traditional service area.
- Maintain compliance with state and national MDT protocols and CARE House policies.
- Track and report MDT data using the Collaborate system to support accreditation and grant requirements.
- Collaborate with the Outreach Team to maintain a unified community presence and increase awareness of MDT processes and resources.
- Schedule, prepare agendas, and facilitate monthly in‑person MDT meetings for Florence, Marion, Dillon, and Clarendon counties.
- Convene and facilitate emergent MDT meetings in response to urgent cases such as human trafficking, CSAM, or other serious situations requiring immediate multi‑agency collaboration.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for MDT partners regarding case staffings, protocols, and coordination needs.
- Coordinate with appropriate professionals and agencies when out‑of‑area forensic interview requests are received to ensure the correct team members are present.
- Maintain current contact information for all MDT members and provide orientation to new team members.
- Ensure MDT meeting notes and recommendations are accurately documented and distributed to relevant agencies.
- Track case progress and follow up with MDT members on action items identified in meetings.
- Enter and maintain all relevant MDT data in Collaborate for reporting and evaluation purposes.
- Identify MDT training needs and assist in planning and coordinating cross‑disciplinary trainings.
- Work closely with Child and Family Advocates to ensure continuity of services for victims and caregivers.
- Plan and coordinate annual MDT recognition events to honor and engage multidisciplinary partners.
- Partner with the Outreach Team to participate in community events, awareness campaigns, and other outreach activities that strengthen MDT collaboration and visibility.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure that all case information is shared in compliance with applicable laws and protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrative Services Supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Minimum of two years’ experience working in a collaborative, multi‑agency setting; experience in a Children’s Advocacy Center or child protection environment strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of child abuse investigations, trauma‑informed practices, and victim advocacy.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Skilled in conflict resolution and facilitation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Collaborate preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid South Carolina driver’s license, and the ability to travel regularly within the four‑county service area.
- Must successfully pass state and federal background checks.
- Full‑time position, primarily Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends required for emergent meetings or special events.
- Work performed in an office setting, partner agency offices, and other community locations.
- Frequent local travel within Florence, Marion, Dillon, and Clarendon counties, and occasional travel to out‑of‑area meetings or trainings.
