JOB DESCRIPTION:Blue World Construction is seeking highly motivated, self-starters for the position of Construction Technician. The desired candidate must have previous hands‑on construction experience with construction‑related field activities such as process piping, working on heavy construction sites, exposed to HDPE butt/electro‑fusion welding, above and below ground pipe installation, concrete/form setting, welding of pipe and structural steel and repairs, rigging and fabrication, and working varied shifts in the field under various climates.
This is a true 'jack‑of‑all‑trades' position. The ideal candidate must have a good work ethic, a willingness to learn new skills, have a team mentality, and must be safety‑oriented in all situations and environments. The candidate will be required to take direction from the project manager(s) and site superintendent, and work independently as well as potentially lead small crews in various tasks.
This position requires an ability to perform various types of skilled labor as well. There is definite opportunity for growth and promotion for those individuals that promote teamwork, lead by example, can learn on the fly, and require little direction. It is important to understand there is opportunity for travel for up to three weeks at a time per rotation.
The company does reimburse employees for travel time and per diem (daily while traveling). The company pays for accommodations including airfare (if/when required) to out of state sites, as well as accommodations (Air Bnb, VRBO and/or hotel).
- Construction Experience – minimum 3‑5 years preferred in remedial construction, process installation, and site work; 1 year required of piping and construction, specifically irrigation installation
- Driver’s License – Required – in good standing
- Reside in central to northern NJ area, but be willing to travel around NJ as needed – per diem and mileage compensation provided when more than 1.5 hrs from Florham Park office. Travel is also required for up to 3 weeks at a time out of state (we go as far west as OR and CA and to the south in TX and FL from time to time).
- Education – high school or equivalent required
- Experience – we need multi‑talented individuals that have experience, and are willing to gain additional experience in installing process pipe, HDPE, welding, rigging, equipment operation, installing equipment, carpentry, painting; HDPE fusion beneficial
