- Hold a valid New Jersey RN Licensure
- Preferred:
Valid NJ School Nurse Certification from the NJ Department of Education - Expertise in school health nursing practice and emergency procedures
- Record of successful school nurse experience preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, wellness education, community health and social service resources, and current health issues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Perform school nurse functions of administering health care service to students
- Administer required health screening for students
- Administer medications following procedural guidelines
- Compile and maintain cumulative health record for each student in the building to assure accurate and complete health records are available
- Provide emergency or immediate first aid, initiate incident/accident report, and follow-up on all personnel injured on school property
