Job Title: Structural Steel Project Manager
Location: Treasure Coast, Florida
Compensation: $110,000+ annually (commensurate with experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Project Manager to lead and manage structural steel construction projects from inception through successful completion. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and on-site execution. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of structural steel systems, strong project management acumen, and a proactive approach to ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets in alignment with contractual obligations and customer expectations.
- Manage day-to-day operations across multiple structural steel projects, ensuring on-time delivery, cost control, and safety/quality compliance.
- Lead coordination between internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, general contractors, engineers, and clients.
- Oversee structural steel fabrication and erection processes to ensure adherence to engineering specifications, project drawings, and AISC standards.
- Monitor project milestones and address changes in scope, schedule, or budget to mitigate risk.
- Facilitate project meetings and maintain communication with architects, developers, and construction managers.
- Ensure documentation such as RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports is submitted and tracked accurately.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to evaluate progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Manage project close-out processes, including final walkthroughs, punch lists, and client handover.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience managing structural steel fabrication and erection projects.
- Strong working knowledge of structural steel systems, shop drawings, and industry codes and standards; AISC certification knowledge is a plus.
- Proficiency in project management and design tools such as Tekla, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and MS Project.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources across multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities with a professional approach to client and vendor interaction.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- OSHA 30-hour certification and other relevant safety training a plus.
