As a Mechanical Superintendent you will manage on‑site mechanical projects, overseeing teams such as foremen and tradespeople to install, maintain, and repair HVAC, plumbing, pipefitment, and machinery. You will ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and project timelines/budgets, bridge technical work with management, and handle reporting, logistics, and problem‑solving.

This position will report to our office location in Holt, FL.

Responsibilities
  • Direct, supervise, coordinate, and schedule all mechanical construction activities across multiple projects, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, welding, millwrighting, rigging, wastewater treatment, water/sewer systems, central heating plants, and industrial machinery.
  • Manage and lead mechanical crews, foremen, and subcontractors—training, mentoring, performance management, and fostering teamwork, safety, and excellence.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between project management, owners, inspectors, AHJs, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Plan and execute projects from pre‑construction through commissioning, including participation in pre‑construction conferences and commissioning activities.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and look‑ahead schedules; provide input on baseline schedules, durations, and sequencing to meet project milestones.
  • Oversee budget and cost control, including familiarity with subcontractor budgets, efficient resource management, and support monthly progress billing.
  • Maintain quality, production, and conformance to contract documents, specifications, engineering drawings, and applicable building codes.
  • Provide technical oversight—interpreting drawings, resolving field issues, coordinating equipment and material placement, and supporting commissioning.
  • Enforce site safety and quality control programs, ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations, company policies, and all safety standards.
  • Coordinate daily field activities with the Project Manager, Quality Control Manager, and Site Safety and Health Officer.
  • Manage logistics and materials—ordering, deliveries, staging, loading/unloading, equipment usage, and site organization.
  • Attend and lead weekly subcontractor coordination meetings, owner meetings, and other required project meetings.
  • Maintain accurate daily records, review timesheets, prepare daily/weekly reports, track progress, and communicate status to management and stakeholders.
  • Continuously identify and resolve project risks, schedule impacts, and field conflicts to maintain productivity, safety, and quality outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Strong self‑motivation with an emphasis on punctuality, reliability, and consistent attendance.
  • 10–20 years of experience in similar construction projects, including building renovations and new construction (government and/or secure facilities preferred).
  • Experience managing USACE and/or NAVFAC government construction projects.
  • Proven ability to solve problems independently and adapt to changing conditions, including unforeseen government schedules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Extensive experience with mechanical systems—HVAC, chilled/heating water, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, wastewater treatment facilities, and related infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, specifications, and submittal data.
  • General knowledge of multiple trades—building construction, insulation, control systems, fire alarm/suppression, and electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and project teams simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with project management tools:
Procore, RMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF tools, and scheduling software such as MS Project.
  • OSHA 30‑hour certification required.
