Description:Join us in this exciting role providing construction phase support services for the renovation of the hemodialysis area of Bay Pines Veterans Affairs Medical Center. We're seeking an experienced Construction Inspection Professional for a temporary six-month, full-time position supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Key Responsibilities:Performs field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used.
Verifies quality of workmanship, quality of materials used, and compliance with plans, specifications, estimates and applicable codes and regulations.
Notes deficiencies and deviations from plans; refers serious problems and disagreements in interpretation to Chief, Projects.
Maintains, updates and assures the accuracy of inspection records, project documentation and project files.
Prepare and submit detailed digital inspection reports, including photo documentation and proper formatting protocols
Monitor the contractor's quality control and safety programs
Participate in quality control meetings and safety oversight
Work Environment:Work will primarily be performed indoors.
Work will be performed after hours as noted above.
RequirementsEducation:
Associate’s degree or graduate of an accredited Trade School or a formal construction apprenticeship program.
Educational requirements may be substituted by 10 years of directly related experience.
ProfessionalExperience:
7 years of experience in construction inspection and contractor oversight activities associated with facilities (i.e., buildings, structures, equipment, systems, etc.) construction and implementation.
Familiarity with handling RFI, change orders, submittal logs, etc.
Field knowledge of safety, scheduling, and cost control is essential.
Professional experience should also include the ability to read and interpret construction documents.
Required Qualifications:NACI Clearance (or the ability to obtain it)
Strong analytical and communication skills
Proficiency in computers and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Department of Veterans Affairs projects and procedures
Familiarity with quality control processes and reporting
Experience in healthcare environments
