Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is conducting a national search to appoint a Director of the Brian

D. Jellison Cancer Institute. The Director will join at a pivotal time as the health care system grows to better serve their patients.

The Director of the Cancer Institute will serve as a key senior leader for cancer services at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System. The physician executive is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives and all operational aspects of assigned operational divisions and physician practices for the Cancer Institute. The Director will evaluate opportunities to drive operational and program improvement, increase patient satisfaction, create operational effectiveness, and position the enterprise for growth and strong market positioning.

This individual will be a dynamic, accomplished leader with a passion for advancing cancer medicine and discovery. The Director will serve as a dyad partner to the Vice President of the Brian

D. Jellison Cancer Institute.

The Director of the Cancer Institute will be a creative leader and an accomplished physician executive who understands the changing healthcare environment and is able to leverage the Cancer Institute’s strengths to advance and support excellence in the delivery of clinical care and community engagement. The ideal candidate will have an outstanding background in medicine, including a track record of excellence in clinical operations, and patient care.

Involvement in cancer center leadership, including community outreach and engagement is ideal.

Experience should include significant and successful leadership at an integrated hospital/health system or academic institution, expanding and fostering strong clinical programs, and physician engagement and development. Accomplishments in clinical cancer care and appropriate board certification are required. Medical licensure or eligibility for licensure in Florida is required.
