Expert Basketball Apparel Designer, Global Jordan

This role will create original, style-led designs that reflect Jordan’s design philosophy and help build the future of Jordan Apparel. Working under the Design Director, the designer focuses on Performance product lines and partners with cross-functional teams from concepting through to production. The role collaborates closely with Colour Design, Graphic Design, Product Management, Development, and Merchandising teams, as well as athletes and collaborators.

The designer also leads and mentors Design teammates, translating consumer insights and trends into culturally relevant products.

• Create innovative designs for Performance product lines under the direction of the Design Director.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on product development from concepting through to production.
• Collaborate with Jordan Graphic Designers, Colour Designers, Developers, and Product Line Managers to bring the seasonal creative direction to life.
• Partner with Design Leadership and category team members in Design, Development, and Merchandising to ensure design feasibility while meeting price points, merchandising needs, and product creation timelines.
• Conduct continued research and consumer connection to anticipate and identify key trends and translate them into culturally relevant products.
• Provide prototype sampling and tech pack information, including fabrication, trim, colour, graphic applications, style, detail, fit requirements, and construction details.
• Monitor the development of prototype samples and interact with Development, Pattern Making, Material, and the Sample Room to exchange ideas and ensure timely completion of each project.
• Provide guidance and leadership to Designers and team members and share knowledge, experience, and product excellence with others.
• Work from concepting seasonal collections with manufacturing partners and communicate directly with athletes and collaborators.
• Execute on business priorities as a collaborative partner across the cross-functional team.

• Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
• 8+ years' experience designing and developing innovative Apparel and other products.
• Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives.
• Strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills.
• Must be able to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs).
• Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills.
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and construction.
• Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project.
• Experience and knowledge of basketball, or a passion to learn about basketball.

• Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus.
• 3D design program experience is a plus.
• AI design program experience is a plus.
