. The Out-of-Door Academy seeks a Long-Term Substitute - Middle School Visual Arts Teacher to join a thriving school committed to a relevant and student-centered learning experience.

The length of this assignment has not yet been determined, but is expected to start mid-February 2026 and last 10-12 weeks.

• Follow instructions from the school office and lead teacher to ensure an optimal and engaging learning experience for students.
• Assign classwork and homework as prescribed by the lead teacher.
• Modify instructional style to fit the learning needs of students.
• Supervise students outside of the classroom, in hallways, at lunch, at recess, drop off and pick up if required.
• Ensure classroom instruction is handled according to the school’s policies, goals and objectives.
• Manage student behavior and maintain classroom order.
• Takes necessary and reasonable action to ensure the safety of students, materials, and school equipment.
• Follow up on instructions left by the lead teacher and ensure they are followed appropriately.
• Lives the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility.

• Bachelor's degree and teaching experience is preferred.
• Ability to develop rapport with students.
• Fluent in Visual Arts with the ability to teach at the Middle School level.
• Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrate computer literacy and proficiency.

This is a temporary, non-exempt position. Shift and hours availability may vary depending on the school’s needs. The expected start date is mid-February 2026
