Middle School Teacher - Private Christian School at Hope Ranch Learning Academy in Hudson, Florida. Private Christian school serving students with Autism and other unique abilities. The Lead Teacher will provide supportive and enriching educational experiences for students, lead classroom instruction, develop individualized lesson plans, and collaborate with administration and Teacher Aides to support each student s academic and personal growth.

Position Overview

The Lead Teacher will lead classroom instruction, develop individualized lesson plans, and manage a classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth. The Lead Teacher will collaborate with the school administration and Teacher Aides to ensure each student s academic and personal success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruction and Curriculum Development:
    Create and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs using a variety of teaching methods and technologies.
  • Individualized Instruction:
    Provide targeted support to students with varying abilities to help each student reach their full potential.
  • Classroom Management:
    Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment with effective behavior management strategies.
  • Collaboration:

    Work with school administration, special education staff, and Teacher Aides to develop and execute comprehensive academic support plans.
  • Student Progress Monitoring:
    Regularly assess and adjust instruction based on student progress; maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and reports.
  • Professional Development:
    Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay updated with best practices.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (REQUIRED).
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience (REQUIRED); experience in special education is preferred.
  • Certification:
    Valid Florida Teaching License and certification (Preferred).
  • Skills:

    Strong classroom management and communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Personal Attributes:
    Compassionate, patient, and committed to helping students achieve independence.
  • Additional Requirements:

    Valid driver s license, ability to pass a Level 2 Background Clearance, and provide proof of degrees and/or certifications.

About Hope Ranch Learning Academy

Our non-Denominational Christian private school is set on a wooded horse ranch. We focus on students with Autism and other learning disabilities, using innovative teaching methods such as the Teaching Family Model and horse interaction as part of the academic experience. Classrooms consist of 1 Lead Teacher, 1-2 Teaching Assistants, and up to 15 students. Elementary classrooms have a 5:1 student-to-instructor ratio;

middle and high school classrooms have an 8:1 ratio.
