Summary
The Secondary Teacher (grades 6-12) is responsible for the instruction of designated content area(s)/course(s) in a classroom setting within a secondary school for the school year, including Chemistry and Earth Space.

- Maintain the professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of their positions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement instruction aligned with state standards, district curriculum, and students’ needs.
- Create a positive learning environment based on respect and rapport.
- Deliver engaging and rigorous lessons to maximize student achievement.
- Use diverse teaching practices to meet students' cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Assess and monitor student performance, progress, grades, and attendance.
- Manage classroom behavior with effective strategies and disciplinary procedures.
- Communicate regularly with parents and school personnel about student progress.
- Ensure health and safety of students and secure equipment and records.
- Maintain required certifications and participate in professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Project management and organizational skills.
- Minimum qualifications include Florida Temporary Certification;
Florida Professional Educator Certificate preferred.
Physical Demands
- Activities include standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing.
- Lifting up to 10 pounds.
