Tallahassee State College is thrilled to announce a full‑time, grant‑funded opening for the position of Career Development Specialist, Arcadia, FL – P07815 with the DOC – DeSoto Correctional Institution Annex. What You’ll Do- Facilitate employability and life skills instruction, administer and interpret assessments, and deliver training that includes the Compass 100 hybrid curriculum and Thinking for a Change.
- Provide Compass 100 Hybrid and supplemental in‑cell assignments through cell‑front instruction for eligible participants in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator.
- Deliver Compass 100 Hybrid instruction in a small‑group setting for participants not in restrictive housing, and coordinate pre‑release connections with community providers and employers via face‑to‑face and technology‑based interactions, including pre‑release job search, recruitment, and placement activities.
- Report monthly attendance, program enrollments, and completions in the Department of Corrections approved format, and maintain documentation of services delivered.
- Facilitate employability and life skills programs.
- Conduct assessment administration and interpretation.
- Provide pre‑release job search facilitation and placement support.
- Maintain accurate attendance and program completion records.
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or a high school diploma with at least two (2) years of professional experience in workforce development, social services, or corrections.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry.
- Associate’s Degree and one year of experience in social services or corrections.
- Competitive salary of $42,024 annually.
