Responsibilities
  • Reading and researching literature.
  • Manuscript preparation of research findings.
  • Attendance and presentations at seminars and meetings.
  • Attendance at training related activities (e.g., workshops for grant writing/scientific presentation).
  • Possible training in teaching related activities by mutual agreement between the postdoctoral scholar and mentors.
Qualifications

Ph.D. in psychology, public health, neuroscience, or related field conferred within the last five years.

Preferred Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have advanced research training and experience (e.g., implementation science/intervention development; prevention/population health; clinical health/translational science; statistical skills).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Manuscript and/or grant writing experience.

Florida State University (FSU), a public institution that has the Carnegie Foundation's highest designation, is expanding our training mission in the area of postdoctoral fellowships at the FSU College of Medicine. The training program is part of FSU Health, which aims to transform how communities access world‑class health care and measurably improve health outcomes. The overall mission of this fellowship program is to provide rigorous training and practical experience to prepare individuals for careers as independent researchers in academia, private industry, and government.

The Postdoctoral Program will be housed in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine (BSSM) at FSU College of Medicine. Specific areas of concentration include behavioral and psychological aspects of healthy aging; maternal‑child health; neuromodulation and neuroimaging of neuropsychiatric disorders; behavioral and social aspects of disease prevention and treatment including HIV; and behavior change research methods, policy and health services research.

Competitive salary and benefits, including travel stipends and pilot funding, depending on qualifications.
