I and C Engineer – Career Level (Data Centers)

Base pay range: $95,200 – $130,900 per year.

Location:

Any location in the United States (ideal to be near a Jacobs U.S. office).

We are seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to design, optimize, and implement control systems for our clients’ industrial and commercial facilities. The role involves developing P&IDs, sizing valves, specifying instrumentation, documenting design information, and ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards. You will also provide on‑site assistance during startup and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

• Design and optimize control systems for various processes.
• Develop P&IDs, size valves, and specify instrumentation.
• Document and model design information.
• Coordinate work activities with other team members and discipline leads.
• Support on‑site startup and commissioning activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 6 years of experience working with instrumentation and controls.
• Proficient with PLC, DCS, and other controls applications.

• Engineer in Training (EIT) designation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Forward thinking and eagerness to learn best practices.
• Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
• Passion for buildings and construction.
• Experience mentoring junior professionals or leading small teams.
• Experience with Data Center design.
