Job Summary

As an electrical engineer, you will apply your knowledge of electrical engineering principles to the research, design, development, and testing of electrical systems and components. Key responsibilities include designing, modeling, simulating, and testing complex electronic circuits, creating schematic drawings, and supporting PCB design and layout. You will utilize SPICE and MATLAB for analysis and documentation while also conducting risk, failure, and root cause analyses to resolve product issues and recommend enhancements.

This role will potentially travel for product field tests, you must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance, and this role is within a defense manufacturing environment, supporting cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Design, model, simulate and test complex electronic circuits, subsystems and systems.
  • Assist engineering with design modification or electronic subsystems and systems for development efforts.
  • Create schematic drawings and support PCB design, layout and routing of sub‑assemblies and systems.
  • Support designs with analysis simulations and calculations using SPICE and MATLAB.
  • Prepare documentation for engineering and manufacturing of products.
  • Conduct complex in‑house tests, direct and guide or mentor other engineers.
  • Apply risk, failure analysis, and root cause analysis within the engineering discipline.
  • Resolve product process and system issues; recommend enhancements and cost reductions; initiate ECN’s; and formulate cost impacts.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of engineering activities.
  • Maintain development and production bill of material for obsolescence.
  • Provide communications and/or presentations to customers, suppliers or vendors.
  • Travel and participate in product field tests.
Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications
  • 4‑year degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering or related field OR a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience preferably in an Engineering Department.
  • Experience/familiarity with simulation (LTSpice or equivalent) and computational programs (MATLAB preferred).
  • Experience working with microcontrollers, digital signal processors (DSPs), and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).
  • Experience with generating electrical design documentation and technical reports.
Skills and Abilities
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance.
  • Must possess a strong theoretical background and applied hands‑on implementation expertise in electronic design, simulation, modeling, analysis, and test.
Travel Requirements
  • Some travel to support field testing.
Physical Requirements

The work environment is a professional office and manufacturing setting. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Noise level may be loud, and the employee may be exposed to various extreme conditions. The employee frequently required to sit, stand, talk, communicate, use hands/fingers, reach with arms and lift up to 20 lbs.
