Position: ELECTRONICS ENGINEER with Security Clearance
Location: Eglin Air Force Base

Duties
* Performs system/subsystem electronics engineering work related to Electronic Warfare Systems, Operational Flight Programs, and/or Airborne Systems.
* Performs engineering activities related to the installation, operation, and maintenance of hardware/software products for Electronic Warfare Systems, Operational Flight Programs, and Airborne Systems support equipment.
* Performs analysis and uses systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to implement, develop, and document projects.
* Performs project management responsibilities to determine the business and technical needs of customers. Requirements Conditions of employment

* A professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution in Electronics Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline is highly desired.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
* May be required to acquire and maintain certification(s), such as Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP), Systems Planning, Research, Development, and Engineering (SPRDE) Level I, and Test and Evaluation Level I.
* The work requires the incumbent to be subject to recall during non-duty hours, weekends, and holidays to complete proposals and/or resolve software problems.
* The work requires the incumbent to be subject to temporary and permanent shift changes.
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. (Continued)
* Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING SERIES 0855.

You must submit a copy of transcripts with your application. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-07:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of the classified title, and the standard practices, methods, and techniques of the occupation sufficient to perform difficult, but well-precedented assignments. Knowledge of analysis, evaluation, fact-finding, and investigative techniques in order to gather data, identify significant factors, and recommend a solution from a number of possible alternatives.

Knowledge of the occupation to perform studies and prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence to communicate factual and procedural information clearly. OR

Education:

One full year of graduate level education in engineering or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position; or a Bachelor's degree in engineering with Superior Academic Achievement, in order to be creditable under this provision, education must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled;

or successful completion of a 5-year program of study of at least 160 semester hours leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering.

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
