Celtic Engineering, Inc., a leader in structural and specialty engineering for the entertainment, hospitality, and aerospace industries, is hiring a Senior Structural Engineer for our Windermere, FL office.
This role is for an experienced structural engineer who can lead technical scopes with minimal oversight. You will lead as Engineer of Record (EOR) on projects, take responsibility for the detailed analysis and design of structural components and systems for facilities and nonbuilding structures, and guide project teams to technical excellence. A current Florida PE license is required; candidates eligible to obtain Florida licensure within 12–18 months will be considered.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Lead gravity and lateral system selection, layout, analysis, and design for structural projects, establishing applicable codes, loads, methods, and tools.
- Apply expertise in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry, with opportunities to work in materials such as FRP, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Provide technical leadership through mentorship, QA/QC reviews, and supervision of structural drawings, reports, and BIM models (Revit).
- Oversee and document inspections, condition assessments, and construction administration activities across all shifts as needed.
- Perform and oversee structural analysis and calculations using industry-standard software (SAP
2000, ETABS, RISA3D). - Demonstrate sound engineering judgment, creativity, and adaptability while meeting both client needs and professional obligations to public safety.
- (Preferred but not required) Experience with seismic design, dynamic structures, and fatigue analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (required), with professional practice focused on structural engineering.
- Master’s degree with a structural emphasis (preferred).
- 9+ years of recent, full-time structural design and engineering experience.
- Strong experience applying IBC-style building codes and U.S. national standards.
- Proficiency with commercial structural analysis software (SAP
2000, ETABS, RISA3D). - Proficiency with BIM tools (Revit preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required (Florida preferred; ability to obtain within 12–18 months considered).
- Strong technical judgment, problem-solving ability, and clear professional communication.
- (Preferred but not required) Experience interpreting international codes and standards.
