The position of CAD/BIM Manager entails working with Project Engineers and Project Managers to prepare engineering drawings, generate design documents from sketches and/or marked‑up drawings through the use of AutoCAD, REVIT or any other applicable software for projects assigned. The CAD/BIM Manager will also schedule and coordinate work, oversee CAD/REVIT staff in regards to timelines and budgets, establish and enforce AutoCAD/REVIT standards based on national standards, coordinate work with outsource vendors, review shop submittals and RFIs.
Knowledge/Skills Required:
- Minimum 2‑year Architectural or Structural Drafting/Design Technology Degree is required
- Experience in AutoCAD & REVIT
- Knowledge of basic drafting skill and methods
- Expertise in industry accepted drafting standards
- Experience in managing a CAD/REVIT team
- Ability to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work required
- Excellent communication skills to interface between all internal disciplines

- Develop detailed AutoCAD/REVIT drawings from sketches, notes, and other input materials.
- Develop and maintain project drawing files and library.
- Complete assignments on time as scheduled.
- Prepare engineering drawings.
- Schedule, coordinate and oversee all work for the AutoCAD/BIM department.
- Take ownership of every project assigned.
- Be responsible for all content of the drawing and file tree.
- Check and back‑check all work before presenting to the Project Engineer/Manager.
- Anticipate additional work required and take initiative to complete it without waiting for Engineer mark‑ups or direction.
- Populate plans without direction by anticipating needed general notes, typical details, schedules, etc.
- Cut and rough out sections necessary without direction.
- Day‑to‑day oversight of CAD staff.
- Provide technical training to less experienced CAD staff.
- Oversee project budgets to ensure CAD/BIM staff is staying on track.
- Effectively communicate with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Engineering Manager and HR as needed in relation to CAD/BIM staff.
- Establish and enforce AutoCAD/REVIT standards.
- Coordinate and oversee work with outside vendors.
- Review shop drawings and RFIs.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Implement and maintain KEG standards for completion of projects.
- Identify and prioritize tasks necessary to complete projects.
- Perform tasks or delegate tasks to suitable employees so that they are completed at required intervals and according to KEG quality standards.
- Verify that tasks have been completed at required times.
- Work with Engineering Manager and Controller as requested to review billing and make changes as needed prior to distribution to clients.
- Report status of projects to Project Engineers, Project Managers, Engineering Manager.
- Track and report budgeted time versus time expended.
- Allocate work to staff based on employee skills and balanced workloads.
- Monitor employee effectiveness and productivity based on billable time in each period.
- Anticipate and respond to the needs of clients, co‑workers, managers, and the community.
- Express and receive information through work, body language and listening skills; present information in a clear, concise manner.
