Location: Tallahassee
Entry-level professional position with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection conducting compliance inspections and investigations for environmental programs including solid waste, hazardous waste, stormwater, air quality, and water resources. The role involves field inspections, permit file reviews, data analysis, and enforcement recommendations in the Northwest District based in Tallahassee, FL.
Key qualifications:- Valid driver license and ability to travel including overnight stays
- At least 4 years of verifiable experience in Environmental/Regulatory and/or Engineering, or post-secondary degree in Natural Science, Environmental Science, or Engineering
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, scientific principles, and field sampling techniques
- Ability to conduct outdoor field inspections and navigate rough terrain in Florida conditions
- OSHA 24-hour HAZWOPER certification required within one year of hire
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and database systems
