leads the state safety office crash records and research administration, transportation safety engineering and planning staff, industrial safety program, programs, contracts, and resources. Supervises employees spending the majority of the time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees' work to ensure we further the safety mission of the department. Has the authority to effectively recommend the hiring, transferring, suspension, lay off, recall's, promotions, discharges, assignments, rewards, or disciplinary actions for subordinate employees.

Plans and directs workloads, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization with subordinate staff. Provides direction and ensures that all subordinates receive training and instruction in methods and techniques necessary to safely perform their assigned tasks. Oversees acquisition of consultants, directs the work of consultant and grant staff of professional, technical, and clerical personnel, monitors and conducts performance evaluations, and processes and approves invoices ensures corrwiance with state and federal guidelines.
