Slot Machine Technician I at Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee

Job Summary

This position is open to individuals with machine or appliance repair experience, or those with an electrical or computerized hardware background. The Slot Machine Technician assists the Slots Operations Division with service and repair support, minimizing downtime and maximizing guest satisfaction. Under the direction of the Slot Technician Manager, the technician applies electrical theory to test, repair, and maintain slot machines and related gaming equipment.

Promotion to Slot Technician II or III depends on experience.

Job Responsibilities
  • Abide by all Company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook and comply with all Company, Local, State, Federal and Tribal regulations relating to Health, Safety, and Operations.
  • Successfully participate in and complete all training sessions, safety classes, pre‑shift meetings, and certifications related to the position.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, modifications, and relocation of slot machines and peripheral devices.
  • Coordinate with the Slot Operations staff to ensure maximum operating efficiency while promoting the company’s goals and values.
  • Ensure all slot machines on the casino floor operate according to company standards.
  • Rebuild parts/equipment during downtimes and maintain the parts inventory as assigned.
  • Prioritize workloads to meet business demands.
  • Circulate through the assigned area performing repairs as necessary.
  • Ensure all slot/storage areas are cleaned and organized.
  • Be responsible for the initial set‑up and testing of all new slot products.
  • Complete all regulatory/operational documents thoroughly and legibly.
  • Assist in training subordinates and developing new methods and training materials as needed.
  • Maintain the integrity of the slot machine equipment and secure all company assets and property at all times.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to responsible gaming and alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate managers of concerns.
  • Report illegal acts or internal ethics violations to managers or the Ethics Hotline.
  • Promote positive public/team member relations at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, hazard‑free work environment within the area of responsibility.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Mechanical/electronic aptitude preferred.
  • Install, service, and repair electronic and mechanical slot machines and ancillary equipment.
  • Disassemble entertainment equipment and repair or replace loose, worn, or defective components and wiring, using hand tools. Strong foundational knowledge of low‑voltage wiring required.
  • Calibrate and test equipment, locate circuit and component faults using hand and power tools and measuring instruments such as resistance meters and oscilloscopes. Demonstrate proper lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
  • Confer with internal and external customers to determine problem nature or explain repairs.
  • Tune or adjust equipment to obtain optimum visual or auditory reception according to specifications, manuals, and drawings.
  • Knowledge of database and internet communication technologies helpful.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; required to write reports.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization while using collaboration and flexibility when managing multiple assignments.
  • Commitment to routinely exceed position responsibilities to help achieve organizational goals.
  • Present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while projecting a professional demeanor.
  • Work in a very fast‑paced environment while adhering to strict guidelines and controls.
Physical Demands
  • Remain standing for majority of shift; regularly speak and listen to customers; transit across surfaces; handle small objects such as wires; reach overhead or inside machinery.
  • Exposure to casino‑related environmental factors including second‑hand smoke and excessive noise.
  • Vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception; exposure to flashing lights and sounds.
  • Lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 70 lbs; use hand‑carts or other equipment.
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, twist at waist; work overhead or from heights.
