Senior Tax Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. In this role you will manage and oversee tax planning and compliance for our clients, handling complex tax issues, ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations, and providing expert guidance to optimize client tax positions.

Location & Relocation: This is not a remote or hybrid position. The role requires in‑office attendance at 2400 Merchant Avenue in the Odessa, FL area. Relocation must be completed.

• Tax Preparation and Review:
  Lead the preparation and meticulous review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts, ensuring accuracy and compliance at every step.
• Strategic Financial Oversight:
  Take charge of the preparation, review, and high‑level planning of financial statements, shaping clients’ financial futures by ensuring statements meet standards and align with long‑term goals.
• Staff Mentorship and Support:
  Provide guidance and mentorship to staff accountants, assisting them in finalizing financial statements and fostering a collaborative environment of accuracy, learning, and growth.
• Proactive Tax Planning:
  Engage in forward‑thinking tax planning strategies, identifying opportunities to optimize client tax positions while staying ahead of regulatory changes.
• Client Collaboration and Advisory:
  Build and nurture strong, trusted relationships with clients, gathering necessary information, providing insightful advice, and serving as their go‑to resource for all tax and financial planning matters.
• Regulatory Compliance Expertise:
  Stay at the forefront of tax laws and regulations, ensuring all filings and practices are fully compliant to safeguard clients against risks and capitalize on opportunities.
• Audit and Authority Liaison:
  Support audits and manage communications with tax authorities, representing clients with accuracy, integrity, and professionalism.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s degree preferred).
• Certification: CPA certification or Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 5 years as a Tax Accountant, focusing on corporate taxation.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software, particularly Ultra Tax.
  • Experience with Quick Books (required).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters CS Prof. Suite / UT.
