Location: Tallahassee
This Revenue Specialist III position with the Florida Department of Revenue's General Tax Administration program determines and resolves tax and bankruptcy claim liabilities, conducts legal research of federal bankruptcy cases, and manages collection and enforcement actions in Tallahassee. The role involves researching accounts using automated systems, making collectability assessments, and securing the Department's interests in bankruptcy proceedings. Local travel to taxpayer locations is required, with occasional overnight travel for training.
Keyqualifications
- Currently employed with Florida Department of Revenue within General Tax Administration Program
- Nine months of experience collecting tax obligations within General Tax Administration Program
- 18 months of accounts receivable, banking, or collections experience can substitute for required experience
- College education can substitute at rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours per year of required experience
- Ability to conduct legal research and make determinations regarding bankruptcy and collection matters
