minimum qualifications:
- high school diploma/equivalent and two years of professional experience related to the duties and responsibilities provided herein.
- current florida certified contract manager certification (fccm).
- florida certified contract negotiator certification (fccn), or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months.
preferred qualifications:
- previous experience as a contract manager/negotiator.
- experience with myfloridamarketplace.
- experience compiling analytical reports and presenting the data to management.
requirements :
- employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check in accordance with chapter 435, florida statutes.
- computer proficiency to include skills in microsoft software including excel, power point, word, and teams.
- working hours are monday – friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Eastern time.
- some travel may be required.

position overview and responsibilities:
the ops contract manager position is responsible for managing, negotiating and overseeing contracts and grants that support marine conservation initiatives, including habitat restoration projects, research partnerships, and community engagement programs. This role ensures that all contracts and grants align with state regulations, funding requirements, and organizational goals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- draft, review, negotiate and manage contracts related to marine conservation efforts, including grants, cooperative agreements, mous, and service contracts.
- ensure compliance and funding requirements with federal, state, and local regulations.
- collaborate with division leadership and supervisors, legal counsel, the grants section, and procurement staff to align contracts and grants with project goals and timelines.
- track contract/grant deliverables, payments, reporting deadlines, and renewal dates using a contract management system.
- monitor contractor/vendor compliance with program requirements through review, analysis, and processing of financial and program deliverables, including expenditure, budgeting, staffing and progress reports, audits and requests for payment to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency with applicable rules, regulations, and program criteria and objectives.
