POLICE OFFICER Police Department

The Village is currently accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. This position protects life and property, enforces federal, state and local laws, investigates criminal activity and responds to emergency/non-emergency situations.

Open until filled. Effective 10/1/25, the starting pay will be $75,182.

Applicants who have not completed Florida basic police officer academy training will not be considered and neither will applications without the fully completed package.

• Be 21 years of age or older
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by completion of basic police officer training academy
• Have U.S. citizenship
• Be able to pass a medical examination
• Be able to pass a thorough background check
• Possess a valid Florida driver’s license or be able to obtain one prior to employment

• Demonstrated ability to perform work requiring little supervision
• Good physical condition
• Sound conflict resolution skills
• Sound oral and written communication skills
• Technical competence with computers

• Vacation leave (0-4 years = 2 weeks; 5-9 years = 3 weeks; 10 years+ = 4 weeks)
