Position Title: Growth Management & Land Use Regional Planner
About the Company: ARPC, a multi‑purpose governmental agency of the State of Florida, provides technical assistance in the areas of economic development, environmental planning, emergency management, transportation, geospatial, growth management, housing, and resiliency to meet the needs of our member local governments within the nine‑county Apalachee Region. The Region covers Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, and Wakulla counties and their municipalities.
ARPC’s mission is to serve our member local governments by providing technical assistance & planning expertise in a variety of disciplines.

Position Summary: The Growth Management & Land Use Regional Planner is primarily responsible for growth management activities including comprehensive planning, comprehensive plan amendments, zoning, land use, amendments, local public workshop support, planning grant administration assistance, and special planning project coordination, among other technical assistance activities for ARPC’s member local governments and municipalities. This position will focus on community planning through growth management and requires liaising between local governments and state and federal agencies as well as providing technical assistance to these entities.
Overall, this position, in conjunction with other ARPC team members and regional partners, will work to enhance communities throughout the Region.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning or a related field (Master’s preferred). - Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in Urban and Regional Planning or related work. - Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Full-time (40 hours/week), Exempt Status - Starting Compensation: $60,000 DOQ
