Position SummaryThis position serves as Strategic Intelligence Analyst in the Florida Fusion Center’s (FFC) Strategic Intelligence & Analysis Center (SIAC). The incumbent will be responsible for collecting, evaluating, analyzing and producing intelligence on crime trends and threats to Florida through the application of extensive analytical research and interpretive skills; the use of numerous investigative, intelligence, and informational sources/databases; and engagement with interagency fusion liaisons.
Duties & Responsibilities- Researching and collecting information, and intelligence to identify trends, threats, vulnerabilities, tactics, and techniques related to domestic security and criminal activity with the potential impact to Florida;
- Preparing analytical briefs, assessments and other products based on experience and analysis both independently and as part of a group;
- Presenting analytical findings via charts, graphics, written documents, and oral briefings;
- Establishing and maintaining liaison with inter‑agency contacts among Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) entities and/or other law enforcement agencies in matters pertaining to the acquisition of public and law enforcement records;
- Attending or supporting, upon request, various intelligence unit meetings in conjunction with other federal, state, and local law enforcement units;
- Writing in a clear, concise, accurate, and well‑organized manner with few grammatical and spelling errors;
- Maintaining familiarity with legal issues surrounding the analytical process including privacy, confidentiality, civil rights, and civil liberty protections within the intelligence cycle and products;
- Communicating with different units within FDLE to facilitate information sharing, avoiding duplication of efforts, and collaborating on work assignments; and
- Performing other duties as needed.

- * Experience in criminal intelligence, military intelligence, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis, or in a law enforcement agency.
- ** Analytical experience in criminal intelligence, military intelligence, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis, or investigative experience in a law enforcement agency.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for four years of experience.
- A master's degree in criminology, law enforcement intelligence analysis, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis or comparable discipline; or a professional certificate in one of these disciplines can substitute for one year of experience.
- Completion of a 720‑hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in law enforcement can substitute for one year of the required experience.
- There may be any combination of education or experience, as described above.
Note:
30 semester hours, or equivalent, of coursework from an accredited college or university is equivalent to one year of experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a group, maintain effective working relationships with others;
- Knowledge of the intelligence cycle;
- Ability to collect, evaluate, and summarize criminal intelligence;
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection and basic arithmetic;
