Job Overview
The Emergency Management Technician supports the Emergency Management Operations and Training Sections by assisting with planning, coordination, and training tasks as directed by the Emergency Management Manager. This role is critical to ensuring preparedness for emergencies, contingency operations, and disaster response activities. Work Model:
Onsite.
- Reviews, develops and/or updates planning documents. Determines requirements; collects data; performs analysis; coordinates with affected agencies; prepares, updates, checklists.
- Responds to contingency or disaster. Receives and evaluates notifications; and supports the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) with admin duties.
- Aids in unit control center operations. Develops/coordinates emergency response procedures, status charts, and checklists. Trains personnel assigned to UCC duties. Serves as EM representative to UCC when required.
- Participates in contingency/disaster exercises. Assists Base exercise program(s) in the development of scenario's, receives and assess notification; helps activate and man control center/Disaster Control Group; assembles personnel; prepares equipment; establishes command and control operations; assists BCE and EOC Manager / Director and staff.
- Supports installation EM/CBRN training requirements; conducts CBRN Defense training; develops training material; revises training material; prepares training schedules; processes training report and metrics; and maintains training lesson plans.
- Conducts training on response equipment; secures equipment; processes completion notification; and updates training in ACES.
- Conducts EM Program Reviews. When requested by unit commanders assist base agencies with their unit EM program; develop unit checklist; developing unit CBRN training schedules; developing EM, Hurricane and Shelter In Place (SIP) checklists; performs trend analysis; assists in developing report on recommended corrective actions.

Mandatory:
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience.
- Completion of the AETC Readiness Apprentice Course.
- Knowledge of directives governing the Air Force EM Program.
- Knowledge of the CBRN warfare defense and response procedures.
- Ability to analyze EM data and reports.
- Successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
- Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
- Ability to obtain any other Government credentials that may be required.
- Valid state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
