DescriptionThe Division of Habitat & Species Conservation (DHSC) comprises six sections and two offices. This position is in the Division of Habitat & Species Conservation Directors office. The role seeks a highly motivated professional to join the DHSC Human Resource team and provide administrative and clerical human resource support.
As part of the DHSC Human Resources team, the incumbent assists staff with a variety of Human Resource needs. The position serves as the point of contact for HR assistance for two divisions. Key responsibilities include scanning and uploading documents into electronic personnel files using Laserfiche Data Storage, coordinating the Division’s veterans’ preference review form, maintaining the veteran preference log, assisting with veterans’ preference notifications, coordinating job advertisement requisitions, disseminating service letters and awards, managing public record requests, backing up time sheet assistance, maintaining boat training certifications, answering incoming calls and routing them to the appropriate staff, and performing additional duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsA high school diploma and five years of professional experience in administrative work. A bachelor’s degree can substitute for four of the five years of experience.
Preferred QualificationsState of Florida personnel experience; data storage experience using Laserfiche; strong organizational skills and reliable work attendance with minimal absences; ability to answer correspondence via email or in person; ability to multitask and assist with special projects; punctuality Monday‑Friday 8‑5; planning and requesting leave in advance; teamwork and a positive attitude.
