This is a Tax Specialist I position in the General Tax Administration Program, Receivables Management, Field Operations - Collection Process, in the Tallahassee Service Center. The incumbent responds to phone inquiries, assists with registering new business entities, analyzes and reviews tax situations and returns, determines tax liabilities, and collects receivables in person, over the phone, or at the taxpayer’s business location.
The incumbent also provides guidance on Florida tax statutes and Department policies and procedures and assists in training and educating the public and Department employees.
- Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
- One year of experience collecting tax obligations within the General Tax Administration Program.
- Six months of experience in the post warrant role performing enforcement actions including but not limited to filing tax liens, garnishment, responsible party assessment, transferee liability, or stipulation agreements.
- This position travels locally to taxpayers’ business locations. In addition, occasional overnight travel may be necessary for training purposes. For all travel, you will use your own means of transportation. Travel costs will be reimbursed according to agency policy.
The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $3,881.92 monthly/$46,583.04 annually.
