This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, Florida within the Bureau of Re-Entry and Transition Services.
The mission of the Office of Programs and Re-Entry at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide comprehensive rehabilitative programs and services that prepare inmates for successful reintegration into society.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES- Contract Management: Participate in the solicitation, development, and review of contract documents, ensuring compliance and recommending corrective actions.
- Operational Support: Provide assistance to institutional staff, enhancing decision-making and efficiency in assigned program areas.
- Financial Oversight: Approve or disapprove expenditure requests through the My Florida Market Place (MFMP) system.
- Contract Amendments: Manage and document contract changes through amendments, change orders, and communication processes.
- Legal and Policy Review: Assess the impact of proposed laws and regulations, recommending necessary changes to contracts, procedures, and policies.
- Grievance Handling: Review and respond to inmate grievances related to operations and contract issues.
- Performance Monitoring: Verify contractor deliverables, monitor progress, conduct meetings, and ensure contract compliance through evaluations and site visits.
- Re-Entry and Transition Services: Serve as a liaison for FDC facilities, coordinating staff training, workshops, and meetings for Re-Entry and Transition Services initiatives.

REQUIREMENTSPlease note, when submitting a college/university degree, if selected for this position official transcripts will be required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must possess a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Must possess two (2) years of experience in re-entry and/or transition services.
- Must possess two (2) years of administrative experience supervising staff.
- Must possess six (6) years of correctional agency related experience.
- Must possess two (2) years of correctional agency related analytical research, data analysis, and auditing experience.
- Must possess four (4) years of experience in criminal justice, or behavioral science, or a related field.
- Postsecondary education may substitute for up to four (4) years of the required experience.
Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONBACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
