Our Organization and Mission:
The Division of Service Operations manages the Central Intake and Licensure unit, the one-stop shop for intake of applications and payments. The Division also oversees the Customer Contact Center (CCC), which handles all initial interaction conducted via telephone and e‑mail.
The Work You Will Do:
This position is a highly responsible administrative position charged with interaction with Tier N decision making to meet standards of responsibility. The position provides management coordination and consulting services to improve Section's capabilities and operations. The main thrust of this position deals with performing operational planning and management of unit objectives and priorities, and to assist in the formulation of effective management policies pertaining to those areas under its authority.
Responsible for the Application and License Processing Units that is charged with licensure processing.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Direct, coordinate and review the work performed in the Application & License Operations Unit.
- Oversee the coordination of a unified system of licensure processing for over 46 occupation types, including application processing and licensure updating.
- Act as liaison for the Application Unit to the board offices concerning issues relating to the licensure programs.
- Perform administrative duties relating to task assignments, personnel and all managerial decisions relating to the areas under this position's managerial authority.
- Assign, review and coordinate office operations related to all operational areas under this position's managerial authority.
- Using information gathered from the quality assurance review to assist supervisors in developing training catalogs and implementing motivational training to improve the quality and quantity of work performed by staff.
- Assist the Bureau Chief in monitoring legislative proposals and bill analysis and make recommendations for statute and rule changes when appropriate. Manage the development of new and existing programs in the bureau and suggest improvements to meet needs more effectively.
- Act as coordinator and consultant on the application processing procedures for licensure, change requests for business and individual entity licenses, and maintenance of licensure.
- Conduct special projects and monitor the development of fiscal and statistical reports.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing; ensuring all customers receive exemplary service.
- Knowledge of application requirements.
- Knowledge of Florida Statutes, board and department rules governing licensing and regulation.
- Ability to interpret licensing information.
- Ability to communicate and disseminate accurate information to staff on a regular basis.
- Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies and procedures for licensing and regulation of professionals and businesses, and consumer protection.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities.
- Ability to compile, organize and analyze data.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Experience working with document imaging programs.
- Must have at least three (3) years of experience supervising, directing, developing, motivating and counseling staff; and
