Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Planning Analyst is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the necessary steps for the Florida Highway Patrol to maintain both state and national accreditation. This includes identifying solutions to meet accreditation standards, ensuring reports and other documentation are completed and submitted within timelines to maintain accreditation, and compiling accreditation documents into Power DMS for assessment. Additionally, the Planning Analyst provides research and analysis of policies and procedures;
identifies statewide operation issues related to accreditation and provides process improvement recommendations to management; performs on-site analysis and assessments when needed; and provides any other tasks to ensure the Florida Highway Patrol maintains its accreditation status. We are looking for candidates who are analytical; interpersonal with a knack for calling others to action; and have superior organizational/time management skills. Successful candidates will also be able to communicate technical information in-person and via well written reports;
use and create/edit forms in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Knowledge of technological applications to include Adobe Acrobat Pro, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Safety Net, and Power
DMS. - Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to conduct research and prepare written reports.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to include effectively conveying complex information.
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a team.
- Ability to understand, interpret and apply policies, rules, and regulations.

- Working or volunteering in a law enforcement environment.

- Preference will also be given to individuals with a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.
