The Florida State University, in partnership with Andrews Research & Education Foundation (AREF), seeks to fill a Regenerative Medicine Research Faculty position (Specialized, Open Rank).

The home department for this appointment will be the College of Medicine - Division of Research & Graduate Programs.

Florida State University is proud to partner with Andrews Research & Education Foundation (AREF) as part of FSU Health to bring together the highest level of sports medicine education, research and clinical care from physicians and other clinicians, researchers, and rehabilitation professionals. Together, we are partnering with industry leaders to develop cutting-edge solutions that impact the future of sports medicine. FSU and AREF already have strong histories and reputations independently in delivering educational, clinical and innovative solutions.

We plan to expand our collective reach through this unique strategic partnership.

Specifically, we seek an experienced professional for the new role of Regenerative Medicine Research Faculty (RMRF). Working at the Andrews Regenerative Medicine Center (RMC) in Pensacola, the successful candidate will provide scientific guidance to generate and sustain research activities in biologics and regenerative medicine. The RMRF will be expected to develop and expand new ideas and protocols in collaboration with corporate and physician/clinical partners, and will be responsible for study implementation, evaluation, and publishing of results.

The RMRF will also provide technical skills training and scientific guidance to clinical investigators and assist with problem solving and data evaluations. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Research at the FSU College of Medicine and the Director of Research and Development at AREF, this critical role will lead grant proposal planning and writing, oversee day to day laboratory activities and ensure that all laboratory procedures are performed properly and in adherence to regulation.

The RMRF may also facilitate procedures in the Surgical Skills Laboratory and assist with patient visits for clinical research studies as needed.

The Andrews RMC was designed to pioneer the translation of regenerative medicine treatments from early clinical and animal studies to evidence-based patient care. The RMC provides clinical space to offer current evidence-based and regulatory-compliant treatments and houses a tissue processing and storage facility to participate in developmental stem cell studies. The RMC includes a GMP compliant clean room (ISO
7), lab equipment to facilitate research (including a flow cytometer, hemocytometer, incubator, microscope, ELISA reader, and other equipment), and biologic product storage (including liquid nitrogen vapor phase storage, a ‑80 freezer, and two medical grade biologic refrigerators).
