What You'll do- Perform ventilator management, including monitoring settings, assessing patient response, and making appropriate adjustments.
- Set up, initiate, and troubleshoot BiPAP/CPAP equipment to support respiratory needs. Conduct cough-assist device setups and training to improve airway clearance and patient outcomes.
- Deliver thorough education to patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff regarding respiratory therapies, equipment use, and care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to assess respiratory status and contribute to individualized treatment plans.
- Provides accurate, timely assessments of patient's respiratory status.
- Interfaces with interdisciplinary team members to individualize plan of care as related to patient's respiratory needs.
- Initiates appropriate patient/family teaching, interventions and/or referrals.
- Provides respiratory care and treatments as ordered by the prescribing physician and in accordance with standards of practice.
- Demonstrates willingness to be flexible in providing care on a schedule which best meets the needs of patients and families.
- Submits accurate, appropriate documentation within specified timelines.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Hospice policies and procedures and pertinent state and federal rules and regulations.
- Participates in providing instruction regarding respiratory care and equipment to Hospice staff and volunteers as requested.

- Education and/or
Experience:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Licensure:
Florida license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist - Continuing education:
Biannual CEUs as required by the Florida Board of Licensure - Certifications:
Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association - Minimum of 2 years clinical respiratory care experience preferred.
- Critical care and pediatric experience are preferred.
- Proficient in use of multiple modalities, assessment, communication, documentation, and teaching skills.
- Must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must be able to provide proof of automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in their employee file.
