GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS CONSULTANT III -

The Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention works to prevent and reduce the impact of chronic diseases and disabling conditions by addressing associated modifiable risk factors across Florida.

• Build relationships with program staff, county health departments, and other internal and external partners to implement effective asthma education and environmental intervention programs.
• Oversee the development and implementation of a program evaluation plan.
• Oversee epidemiological analyses of program data and data dissemination to local, state, and federal partners.
• Convene and facilitate the work of the Florida Asthma Coalition.
• Oversee the dissemination of training and educational materials through the program’s website, webinars, or in-person meetings.
• Serve as the primary contact with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the awarded cooperative agreement, including managing the budget and grant reporting and overseeing the contracts established under this program.
• Participate in educational opportunities to enhance professional development.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

Knowledge of asthma, clinical quality improvement, grant management, budget management, and contract management. Ability to coordinate a chronic disease program; determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments; communicate effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to environmental and chronic disease programs; solve problems and make decisions;

assess budgetary needs; formulate policies and procedures; prepare technical reports; collect, evaluate, analyze, and interpret program data; and work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred candidate will possess a master’s degree in public health or a similar field with at least two years of public health experience.
