The Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity. The Agency administers the Florida Medicaid program, licenses and regulates nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and empowers consumers through health care transparency initiatives. Under the direction of the Agency Secretary, AHCA is focused on advancing Governor DeSantis’ vision for Florida’s health care system to be the most cost‑effective, transparent, and high‑quality health care system in the nation.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida. We are seeking to hire a Government Analyst II who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. The position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Quality and is NOT a remote or telework position.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and perform monitoring activities (routine and ad‑hoc reviews) in accordance with Florida Medicaid policies and procedures, as directed by supervisor.
- Analyze health care/program related information to determine compliance with federal and state laws.
- Develop and implement program monitoring methodologies and techniques.
- Compile, organize, and analyze data and develop reports.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including federal and state agencies, Medicaid recipients, managed care plans, and providers.
- Communicate findings effectively verbally and in writing.
- Travel with or without accommodations as required.
- Experience and knowledge of Medicaid or other health care systems.
- Knowledge of practical social services, public health, or managed care.
- Skilled in reviewing and analyzing reports related to health care, including financial and health services.
- Ability to compile, organize, and analyze data and develop reports.
- Ability to develop and implement various program monitoring methodologies and techniques.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use computer systems for general office and research purposes (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Explorer).
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, multi‑task, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to organize data into a logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
- Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team with other bureaus and the Agency management team.
- Two years of experience reviewing, monitoring, or auditing health care or social service programs for quality compliance.
- Four years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering, or administrative work.
