Location: Hudson
The OPS Environmental Health Specialist works for the Florida Department of Health in Pasco County conducting inspections and investigations of environmental health programs including facilities, water systems, and onsite sewage treatment. The role involves site inspections, complaint investigations, report preparation, and field data collection across multiple regulated establishments to ensure compliance with state and county regulations.
Key qualifications:- Valid Florida Driver's License and reliable transportation
- 30 semester hours or 40 quarter hours in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Health Science, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Epidemiology, or Biostatistics
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Teams)
- Ability to conduct environmental health assessments and document findings clearly
- Ability to collect and analyze water, soil, and food samples
- Knowledge of environmental health terminology, principles, and applicable regulations
