Position Overview

The Hotel Concierge provides exceptional customer service to hotel guests by offering assistance with various requests, including restaurant reservations, event tickets, transportation, sightseeing recommendations, and other guest services. The concierge ensures that guests have a memorable and seamless stay by anticipating their needs and providing tailored solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Assistance

  • Greet guests upon arrival and establish rapport to understand their needs.
  • Provide guests with information about the hotel’s amenities, services, and local attractions.
  • Assist with special requests such as booking transportation (e.g., taxis, airport shuttles), arranging spa appointments, or providing directions.
  • Resolve guest complaints or issues with a professional and positive attitude.
Reservations and Bookings
  • Make restaurant reservations, theater tickets, and transportation arrangements.
  • Recommend local attractions, activities, and events based on guests’ preferences.
  • Secure hard-to-get reservations or tickets for guests, going above and beyond to fulfill special requests.
  • Assist with arranging excursions or tours and provide recommendations for sightseeing.
Guest Services
  • Handle guest requests for personal services, such as dry cleaning, shoe polishing, or deliveries.
  • Coordinate with hotel staff to ensure special arrangements (e.g., flower delivery, birthday celebrations, or romantic getaways).
  • Ensure guests are informed of hotel policies, facilities, and promotions.
Communication and Coordination
  • Maintain communication with other hotel departments to ensure that guests' requests are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Keep accurate records of guest requests, preferences, and feedback for future reference.
Local Knowledge
  • Stay informed about local events, attractions, restaurants, and cultural happenings.
  • Build a network of reliable vendors and service providers to ensure guests receive high‑quality recommendations.
Customer Service
  • Exhibit excellent communication and problem‑solving skills to handle all guest inquiries with patience and professionalism.
  • Ensure that every guest feels valued and cared for, creating a welcoming and luxurious environment.
  • Uphold the reputation of the hotel by providing exceptional service and personalized attention to detail.
Security and Safety
  • Be aware of any security issues and safety protocols related to guests’ well‑being.
  • Keep sensitive guest information confidential and secure.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience:

    Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or a related field. Experience in a concierge role is a plus.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with guests, management, and staff.
  • Organizational

    Skills:

    Strong multitasking abilities to handle multiple requests and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Problem‑Solving:
    Ability to quickly resolve guest issues and requests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Knowledge of Local Area:

Education and Certification
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required; a degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.

Work Environment
