Position Title: IT Business Consultant

Location: Tallahassee, FL

Position Status: Contract (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $50-$60/Hr.

We are seeking a highly motivated IT Business Consultant to serve as a key liaison between business units and IT teams. In this role, you will lead the collection, analysis, and documentation of business requirements, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and organizational objectives. You will assess IT demand patterns, prioritize initiatives, and drive process improvements across the enterprise. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment, has strong analytical and communication skills, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously while engaging with senior leadership.

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders using interviews, workshops, and structured analysis
• Assess IT demand patterns, identify trends, and evaluate feasibility against technical capabilities
• Prioritize IT initiatives based on urgency, complexity, business impact, and strategic alignment
• Maintain and manage the IT demand pipeline, balancing competing priorities and resource allocation
• Develop user guides, process documentation, and self-service resources for business and IT teams
• Implement continuous improvement workflows, reporting systems, and automated feedback mechanisms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes
• Support daily reporting and performance tracking for IT initiatives
• Facilitate meetings, workshops, and executive briefings to ensure alignment and stakeholder engagement

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 7+ years of combined IT and business experience, including 3+ years in business analysis, project management, or IT planning roles
• Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (ITIL, COBIT) and governance processes
• Experience with business analysis methodologies, requirements gathering, and solution design
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems architecture, and emerging technologies
• Financial management skills, including budgeting, cost analysis, and ROI calculations
• Expertise in project management and demand management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure Dev Ops, Service Now)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

• PMP, CBAP, or ITIL certifications
