The Work You Will DoAs a Distributed Computer Systems Specialist within the Information Technology section of the Florida Commission on Human Relations, you will play a key role in supporting the Commission’s mission to prevent unlawful discrimination and ensure equal opportunity for all Floridians.
This position is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of distributed computer systems, network infrastructure, and enterprise software applications that enable the FCHR staff to carry out investigations, outreach, and enforcement activities efficiently and securely.

Pay$34,760.00 – $45,000.00
Your Specific Responsibilities- Analyzes and resolves hardware and software issues using diagnostic tools, troubleshooting techniques, and research.
- Conducts ongoing investigation identifying methods for improving the use of existing hardware, software, and documentation.
- Assists in the design and configuration of distributed computer systems and applications pertaining to desktops, servers, all other hardware and software, communication devices, and user training.
- Installs, configures, implements and supports all enterprise‑wide hardware and software in use by the Commission.
- Provides project management assistance on information technology initiatives.
- Trains users in all approved software and hardware equipment use.
- Researches and implements upgrades and equipment additions.
- Revises and implements solutions that make efficient use of the computer operations for every level of staff.
- Maintains computer and software inventories and corresponding documentation.
- Experience with distributed processing operations, procedures, and desktop / server equipment and support.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Office Suite apps.
- Ability to train individuals or groups of people, to prepare a variety of materials relating to training functions, to interpret and respond to computer issues, even some being complex.
- Ability to monitor and resolve problems with distributed server systems and end‑user devices.
- Ability to assist in the implementation plans and diagnosis of network issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
