This is a full-time position [40 hours per week, with a willingness to work additional hours] that offers medical/dental/vision benefits, and paid leave. The minimum qualifications include:
Qualifications- 2-plus years of specific paralegal experience in an office environment.
- Extensive computer skills, to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro.
- Experience in filing documents in state circuit courts and federal courts throughout Florida.
- Experience drafting notices, motions, and other state and federal court documents.
- Superior skills speaking directly or via telephone with potential clients, agency representatives, defendants, attorneys, and plaintiffs’ counsel.
- Scheduling various appointments for attorneys and other support staff.
- Requesting documents from state agencies, private entities, defendants, and plaintiffs’ counsel.
- Drafting correspondence for attorneys and support staff.
- Drafting notices of appearance, depositions, mediation, and related standard documents.
HBS is a small, fast-paced boutique law firm in Tallahassee representing health care professionals and assisted living and other similar facilities statewide in courts, various professional boards, and state agencies. In addition, we represent state agencies and individuals in civil rights, employment, and tort actions.
